About Me

Saunak Shah is an Indian-born, New York City-based photographer and designer. With over 10 years in the advertising industry, Saunak has fueled his professional life as an Art Director using photography as a medium for self-expression. HIs work focuses on the underlying narrative of people and the environments they live in and largely surround themes around scale and sense of place, isolation and identity.

Saunak's work was on display through March 22nd as part of #MobilePhotoNow at the Columbus Museum of Art in Columbus, Ohio. Previously in 2014, it was showcased at the launch exhibition of the #24HourProject in Guadalajara, Mexico. Saunak is a panelist at portfolio reviews held by NYC FotoWorks. Saunak has been made a suggested-user twice; a community ambassador by Instagram for @saunakspace and only recently @pursuitofportraits.

Saunak's interest in photography is varied although he most enjoys shooting cityscapes, people and street-style skewing towards fashion and portraiture. His recent shoot for Land Rover captured 3 unique Land Rover owners in 3 different cities across the US and was showcased in their Owner-in-Market CRM and digital campaigns. He is also a featured photographer on "The Journey"; Land Rover USA's official Tumblr page.

Saunak is available for assignments and collaborations with brands, collectives, organizations, models, stylists, designers and photographers alike.
